Net salary 2027 in Czechia: step-by-step calculation and examples

How Czech net pay is calculated in 2027: contributions, tax advance, credits and child benefit step by step. A net-pay table from the minimum wage to CZK 200,000, examples for parents, students and DPP/DPČ agreements, and a comparison with 2026.

How much will you take home from your gross pay in 2027? Here is how Czech net pay is calculated, step by step, with model examples for typical salaries, parents, students and DPP/DPČ agreements. All amounts are based on regulations published in the Collection of Laws and the wording of the acts in force from 1 January 2027, as of 26 October 2026. Work out your own pay in our net salary calculator, which already supports 2027.

What changes for 2027

  • minimum wage CZK 24,900 (MPSV notice No. 171/2026 Coll.),
  • 23% tax-advance threshold CZK 154,989 a month (3 times the average wage of CZK 51,663, Government Regulation No. 177/2026 Coll.),
  • student tax credit CZK 335 a month (Act No. 180/2026 Coll.),
  • end of withholding tax on agreements and small-scale employment: from 2027 such income is taxed by a 15% advance on a separate base (Section 6(4) of the Income Tax Act),
  • DPP contribution threshold CZK 12,500 and decisive income CZK 5,000 (MPSV notices No. 184/2026 Coll. and No. 186/2026 Coll.).
Contribution rates, the basic taxpayer credit and the child tax benefit stay the same as in 2026.

Net pay calculation step by step

1. Employee social insurance: 7.1% of gross pay, rounded up to whole crowns. 2. Employee health insurance: 4.5% of gross pay, rounded up. If pay is below the minimum wage, the employee usually tops up the premium to the minimum assessment base. The minimum does not apply, among others, to people for whom the state also pays insurance (e.g. students, pensioners or parents on parental leave), holders of a ZTP or ZTP/P card, and self-employed people paying at least the minimum advances (Section 3(8) of Act No. 592/1992 Coll.). If pay is lower because of obstacles on the employer's side, the employer pays the difference. 3. Base for the tax advance = gross pay (plus any taxable non-cash income, e.g. a company car), rounded up to the nearest CZK 100 above CZK 100. 4. Tax advance: 15% of the base up to CZK 154,989 and 23% of the part above it. The calculated advance is rounded up to whole crowns (Section 38h(3) of the Income Tax Act). Above the 23% threshold this produces hellers: at CZK 160,000, for example, 23,248.35 + 1,152.53 = CZK 24,400.88, i.e. an advance of CZK 24,401 before credits. 5. Tax credits (only with a signed tax declaration): basic credit of CZK 2,570 a month, plus the student credit of CZK 335 where applicable, and disability or ZTP/P credits. 6. Child tax benefit: CZK 1,267 for the first, CZK 1,860 for the second and CZK 2,320 for the third and each further child a month. If it exceeds the tax, the difference is paid out as a tax bonus (at least CZK 50 and only with income of at least CZK 12,450, half the minimum wage). 7. Net pay = gross pay − social − health insurance − tax advance after credits (+ tax bonus).

Example: gross pay CZK 45,000, signed declaration, no children

  • social insurance: 7.1% = CZK 3,195,
  • health insurance: 4.5% = CZK 2,025,
  • tax advance: 15% of CZK 45,000 = CZK 6,750 − basic credit CZK 2,570 = CZK 4,180,
  • net pay: CZK 35,600.
Such a salary costs the employer CZK 60,210 a month (gross pay + 24.8% social and 9% health insurance).

Net pay 2027: table

CZK 200,000CZK 145,769CZK 145,122CZK 267,600
The table compares the same gross pay in both years. The 2026 minimum wage was CZK 22,400, giving CZK 19,011 net; the 2027 net minimum wage is CZK 20,846, i.e. CZK 1,835 more. Up to a gross pay of about CZK 146,900 a month, the same gross gives exactly the same net pay in 2027 as in 2026, because rates and credits do not change. Higher earners gain slightly, as the 23% advance threshold rises from CZK 146,901 to CZK 154,989 (CZK 647 a month at a salary of CZK 160,000). The 2027 social-insurance ceiling is CZK 2,479,824 a year; for very high incomes social insurance stops once it is reached.

Parents: child tax benefit

Gross pay CZK 45,000, signed declaration:
ChildrenNet pay 2027
noneCZK 35,600
1 childCZK 36,867
2 childrenCZK 38,727
3 childrenCZK 41,047 (incl. a CZK 1,267 tax bonus)
Lower salaries: with gross pay of CZK 30,000 and two children, net pay is CZK 27,717 (incl. a CZK 1,197 tax bonus). At the minimum wage of CZK 24,900 with one child, CZK 22,113 (tax bonus CZK 102).

Students: the student tax credit from 2027

A student up to 26 (or 28 for full-time doctoral studies) with a signed declaration can claim CZK 335 a month from January 2027. Example: a DPČ agreement paying CZK 20,000 gross:
  • without the student credit: net CZK 17,250,
  • with the student credit: net CZK 17,585 (the tax advance falls from CZK 430 to CZK 95).
The credit only helps those who still owe tax after the basic credit, i.e. from gross income of roughly CZK 17,134 a month. See Childcare and student tax credits 2027.

DPP and DPČ agreements in 2027

  • DPP up to CZK 12,499: no social or health insurance. With a declaration and the basic credit there is usually no tax: a CZK 10,000 DPP = CZK 10,000 net.
  • DPP below the limit without a declaration: from 2027 no longer withholding tax but a 15% advance on a separate base: a CZK 10,000 DPP = CZK 8,500 net. After the year end the advance can be included in a tax return.
  • DPP from CZK 12,500: contributions apply as for an employee: a CZK 15,000 DPP with a declaration = CZK 13,260 net.
  • Difference from 2026: a CZK 12,300 DPP with a declaration gives CZK 12,300 net in 2027, but only CZK 10,872 in 2026, when contributions were still due.
  • DPČ and small-scale employment: insurance applies from the decisive income of CZK 5,000.

Without a tax declaration

Without a signed tax declaration (typically at a second employer), no credits or child benefit can be claimed in the monthly advance. At gross pay of CZK 45,000, net pay is CZK 33,030 instead of CZK 35,600. The credits can be claimed afterwards in a tax return.

Calculate your own pay

Our calculators already support 2027: net salary, gross from net, DPP, DPČ and the detailed payroll calculator. The exception is the cash meal allowance: MPSV will publish the 2027 limit only in the travel-allowance decree, so until then the calculators use the 2026 limit and say so explicitly. All 2027 payroll limits are in Payroll limits and amounts 2027. Want your 2027 payroll set up without worry? We are happy to help.
