Reporting work injuries in 2026: paperless, all electronic via SÚIP

From 1 January 2026 a new regulation (No. 322/2025 Coll.) applies — work injuries are reported exclusively electronically via the SÚIP portal. We summarise what it means for employers: injury classification, deadlines (15 working days) and the injury book.

Table of Contents
From 1 January 2026 a new government regulation, No. 322/2025 Coll., on employer duties in work injuries, applies and replaces the former Regulation No. 201/2010 Coll. The main change is the end of paper forms — work injuries are now reported and injury records submitted exclusively electronically through the portal of the State Labour Inspection Office (SÚIP).

What changes from 2026

- Work injuries are reported and injury records submitted only electronically via the SÚIP portal. The previous channels (post, e-mail, data box) are no longer sufficient for this purpose. - A single electronic form replaces the paper form templates from the regulation's annexes. - The goal is digitalisation, less administration and better injury data.

New classification of work injuries

- a fatal work injury, - a serious work injury, - an injury with incapacity for work longer than 3 days, - a minor work injury.

Reporting deadlines

- The injury record must be submitted to the SÚIP portal within 15 working days of the day the employer learned of the injury. This applies to injuries with incapacity longer than 3 days and to serious and fatal injuries. - A fatal or serious work injury must be reported without undue delay, again via the SÚIP portal. - Other statutory reporting duties (for example to the Police when a crime is suspected) remain in force.

Where injuries are reported

Reporting and record submission go through the Labour Inspection Portal (SÚIP), also reachable via suip.gov.cz. The employer's statutory representatives log in using bank identity, MojeID, I.CA or other state electronic identification. After logging in they can report the injury, complete and submit the injury record, save or print it, and update an already submitted record.

The injury book stays

The duty to keep an injury book remains — kept electronically or on paper. It no longer needs to state the number of hours worked before the injury. Signed injury records must be archived for 10 years.

What employers should do

- Get access to the SÚIP portal and try the new electronic form before an injury happens. - Update internal OSH guidelines and procedures according to the new regulation. - Train managers and staff responsible for injury records on the new deadlines and process. - Set up the injury book (ideally electronically) and 10-year archiving of records. The new rules apply to all employers regardless of company size. It pays to build them into internal processes early — the first injury is not a good time to learn a new system on the fly.
